The beaches of Barcelona are the best for relaxing
There are many public places in Barcelona, well-equipped for a relaxing holiday on the beaches of locals and tourists
Each place has its own atmosphere and has its own specifics. Barceloneta is the oldest beach in Barcelona, which is very popular among locals and tourists. In some places of the beach, real workout platforms have been set up, which are appreciated by guests who monitor their body condition. On the beach you can rent bicycles and skateboards. For them on the waterfront there is a special marked path. For children equipped playground. Fans of beach volleyball are also not deprived - on Barceloneta beach there is a special playground.
The crowded beach of Sant Sebastia is located near Barceloneta and has some similarities with this place, however, rest on it seems to many more pleasant and calm. Sant Sebastia is located in a cozy cove, so the water off its shores is clear and clean. The surface is covered with fine sand, which is nice to walk barefoot. The beach has the prestigious Blue Flag award and is completely deserved. Sant Sebastia is regularly cleaned, there is no garbage, and the area looks well-groomed.
Between Barceloneta and Sant Sebastia is located the beach of San Miguel. Together with San Sebastia, he is the owner of the "Blue Flag": both beaches received one award for two. Gentle and clean sand pleasantly caresses your feet, it is convenient to enter the turquoise and transparent sea. The infrastructure is familiar: toilets, showers, changing rooms. It offers classic beach activities, bicycle rental. The beach is always crowded, but not as much as on Barceloneta. According to many tourists, it is here that families with children should go. The gradual entry into the sea, shallow water, pleasant sand and a large space for playing with it makes rest with the baby interesting and easy. There are several bars and restaurants on site.
Spain is famous for its folk holidays. It seems that the Spaniards are ready to have fun at least every week, in all cities and towns of the country fiestas take place regularly. February is the month of carnivals, this holiday is especially interesting in Cadiz, where it takes place with the participation of a military orchestra and has a satirical thrust. In March, Valencia organizes a "fallas": huge papier-mache sculptures depicting real or fantastic people are placed all over the city, and then they are burned in the presence of an enthusiastic crowd.
The most popular beaches of Barcelona
Nova Mar Bella is one of the best beach destinations in all of Barcelona. The surface consists of white fine sand, which is cleaned daily from debris. Through the thickness of the clear turquoise water, you can see colorful fish, quickly scurrying around the bottom. There are not so many visitors on the beach, and mostly locals. Tourists on Nova Mar Bella will not often see. On weekdays there are many schoolchildren, and with the onset of the weekend, married couples with children, couples and friendly companies come here.
Rich is considered one of the best and most modern beach in Barcelona with a length of 700 meters. Mostly people over 30 have a rest here. There is no noise and bustle that appeals to lovers of a relaxing holiday. On the territory there are toilets and showers, as well as changing rooms. During the calm, the water is clear and clean, but as the waves approach, turbidity appears. The beach is considered non-touristic, since city visitors prefer not to spend a lot of time to get to a beach holiday place far from the center.
A little known among travelers, Levant beach is popular with locals, despite its distance from the city center. In the summer, there are always a lot of people, so for a spacious holiday you will have to look for a place. The beach has excellent infrastructure, there are toilets, showers, you can rent deck chairs and umbrellas, Wi-Fi is also available. Guests play beach volleyball, surfing. The entrance is not very convenient - flat. Sometimes there are big stones. The beach has two features: it is adapted for people with disabilities, and there is also a separate area for visitors with pets.
Somororrostro beach is located next to Barceloneta. There are a lot of holidaymakers here, however, there is enough free space, so you can walk to the sea without stepping over lying bodies. The territory is always clean due to timely cleaning. A large number of restaurants and nightclubs of the city work along the coastline, so the main share of the rest here is young people who spend time by the sea day and night. In terms of equipment and services offered, the beach is no different from other similar places in Barcelona. Here is the information center Center de la Platja. In the summer, this center organizes excursions and lectures telling about the history of the city coast.
