Hintertux from three sides, except the north, is surrounded by mountains. Snow is here all year round.

The Hintertux Glacier is the only place in Austria where you can ski all year round

The Hintertux Glacier is an alpine glacier located at the end of the Ziller Valley in Tyrol on the summit of the mountain of the same name. There are tracks of any level: from light to increased complexity. National ski teams of several countries spend their summer training here. Downstairs, near the ski lift, lies a small village with hotels, shops, offices where you can rent ski equipment, and a huge free parking. There is also a bus stop.

The Hintertux Glacier is part of the Zillertal 3000 ski area, which offers 487 km of pistes for skiing. If you plan to ride only on the glacier, you can stop in the village right next to the ski lifts. Nearby are very nice alpine villages Madsayt, Tux, Youngs, Lanersbach. At the very top of the glacier, to a height of 3250 m, you are lifted by three lines of cable car-booths. For a trip to the glacier you have to choose a windless day. At the very top of the mountain is an ice cave, which you can visit.

In central Europe, there is a stunning country of Austria, known throughout the world for its unique Baroque architectural objects, picturesque mountain villages and beautiful alpine vegetation. The capital of the state is Vienna - a wonderful city, painted on the Danube River. Austria embodies various European cultures, is famous for the unique palaces of Schonbrunn and the Hofburg, the Bohemian forest spread in the north of the country, Lake Traunsee and vineyards growing in the east. In addition, in Austria there are wonderful ski resorts.

The ski season in Austria starts in November and ends in May. At four Austrian resorts you can ride all year round! Winter resorts of the country are different, organized at a high level, well-established infrastructure, the latest lifts, well-groomed trails. The easiest trails in the ski resorts of the Austrian state are "blue", designed for people who are starting to learn skiing and snowboarding. There are no green tracks in Austria. Lands of federal importance - Styria, Carinthia. Tyrol and Salzburgerland have wonderful, world-famous, populated areas, which received the status of ski resorts.

Hintertux Glacier is located at the very end of the Ziller Valley, 18 kilometers from the cheerful village of Mayrhofen

Skiing on the Hintertux Glacier is possible all year round: the summer ski resort on Hintertux was opened as early as 1968, and since then, there have been year-round sports teams of skiers. The ski area of the Hintertux Glacier is located at an altitude of 1500 - 3250m above sea level. In winter, the length of the ski slopes is 86 km, in summer - 18 km (in summer, only the uppermost part of the glacier is available for skiing, located at altitudes of 2660 - 3250 m).

Resort Tyrol is a favorite place for recreation not only for skiers, but also for snowboarders. Over eight hundred lifts function here, magnificent tracks are laid, numerous restaurants, cozy bars and cafes, as well as discos and nightclubs work. The Tyrol resort is famous for its modern sports facilities, equipped with swimming pools and saunas, fitness, gym and tennis courts. Hintertux is famous for its long, wide red trails. For beginners, this resort is not very suitable, even the blue trails (of which there are not many) are quite complicated here. But lovers of black extreme runs may be disappointed: there are very few black slopes. But lovers of red, wide, long descents (like us) will be delighted with the ski area on the Hintertux glacier. There are a lot of people on the glacier who came not to ride, but just to walk and enjoy the views.

How does Austria attract tourists? How can you not love this sparkling beauty? Even in spite of frost and blizzards, winter remains the most extraordinary season of the year. In fairy tales and paintings, she is often represented as an ice queen, beautiful and cold, dressed in a white fur coat, and her head is decorated with a crystal crown. The cold beauty of winter cannot compare with other seasons. This is a caring hostess, covering the Earth, cities and villages, the whole nature of fluffy snow, giving nature a rest before a warm spring and hot summer.

The majestic Alps occupy two thirds of the territory of Austria. Just imagine - there are seventy-one ski regions in the country! Austria boasts excellent resorts, which number more than eight hundred! On its territory there are fifty zones for skiing and snowboarding. It should be noted that Austrian skiers win the largest number of medals at the World and European Championships.
