Not far from the city of Huaras is Chavin de Huantar - the temple, which was for many centuries the most important center of pilgrimage for Chavin culture, which existed from 1500 to 300 BC. Chavin de Huantar is of great historical importance not only for Peru, but also for all mankind and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
