Even with a simple visit to Greenland, which does not involve traveling outside the city, you should stock up on warm clothes with good protection from the wind, as well as warm and strong shoes.

Glaciers are melting at a fast pace - they are currently losing about 335 billion tons annually, which corresponds to a 1 mm sea level rise every year. The contribution of this ice to sea level rise is approximately 25-30% and is equal to the contribution due to the melting of the Greenland ice sheet.

In no other corner of the planet is the northern lights so bright and spectacular as it is over the east coast of Greenland during the autumn and winter months. The capital of Greenland is the city of Nuuk, which the locals also call Gotham, which means "good hope" in Inuit. Greenland is the largest island in the world and over 80% of its territory is covered with eternal ice. Greenland is considered the largest glacier after Antarctica.

The accelerating global warming and the melting of glaciers is a serious problem: the disappearance of the ice sheet threatens to raise the ocean level by about 7 meters. Each country has its own unique culinary traditions, and Greenland is no exception. Under the huge glaciers of Greenland there are lakes and, possibly, microorganisms unknown to mankind live in them. Despite the great interest on the part of geologists, they are still little studied, but a major breakthrough in this area has recently taken place. If earlier scientists knew only about 4 ice-covered reservoirs of Greenland, now their number has increased to 60. Researchers believe that this is only the beginning - in the future they can discover even more lakes that contain not only life, but also affect movements of ice. At the moment, it is known that the length of subglacial lakes ranges from 0.2 to 5.9 kilometers. At the moment, they are not officially documented, but the researchers are quite confident in the reliability of the data collected. The lakes under the ice of Greenland began to be studied only recently, because before most attention was paid to the lakes under the ice of the Antarctic. In total, more than 400 pieces were discovered, and some of them were even drilled and checked for the presence of living organisms.

If the Earth were significantly more massive, then the forces of gravity would most likely prevent the emergence of higher forms of life, and if less, then the Earth, like Mars, would lose its atmosphere under the influence of the solar wind, which also does not contribute to the development of life. If the gravitational field of Jupiter did not have a regulatory effect on the inner zones of the solar system, the Earth would be continuously subjected to bombardments of meteorites and comets, which would result in constant catastrophes of a global scale that impede the evolution of life to its highest forms.
