Translated from the Danish language Nyhavn means "new harbor". And Copenhagen is the "merchant harbor". Many tourists start to get acquainted with Copenhagen from this street. From here boat cruises depart throughout the city. On New Year's Eve, when local shops and cafes decorate their shop windows, and residents hang out glowing light bulbs on the windows, the old Newhavn turns into one big decoration for fairy tales.
Nyhavn is a canal on the bank of which is located the famous embankment. This channel was dug in 1673 by order of the Danish king Christian V in order to get access to the sea from the city center. Over time, the main trading port of Copenhagen was formed here. Two embankments stretch along the canal, but most tourists walk along the side where there are colored houses with odd numbers. On the same side there are numerous cafes and restaurants. To take a photo of these houses, it is better to go to the opposite side. At the very beginning of the channel, a monument to the Danish sailors who died during the Second World War was installed.
This is the main tourist promenade of the Danish capital, along with the pedestrian street Stroget
Take a boat on the pier of the Nyhavn canal and tour the canals of Copenhagen, watching the life of the city from the water, and then watch the sunset on the embankment of Nyhavn. This street itself has become a kind of open-air museum.

On its facade date of construction is visible - 1681 year. Copenhagen is one of the most beautiful European cities.
