Old windmil, Russia. Veliky Novgorod, Russia
Museum of Wooden Architecture "Vitoslavlitsy"
Mill of the beginning of the XX century from the village Ladochina, Soletsky district of Veliky Novgorod, Russia
It is made in the Dutch style, which Peter the Great brought to Russia. Now the mill is located in the Vitoslavlitsy Museum, where it was transported in 1971. The Museum of Folk Wooden Architecture "Vitoslavlitsy" is located four kilometers from Veliky Novgorod. The museum was founded in the 60s of the 20th century in order to preserve wooden monuments from remote places where there was no one to look after them. After dismantling, they were transported here, where they were collected and restored. Very picturesque place on the shores of Lake Myachino.
Agriculture originated about 12 thousand years ago, but the first Europeans began to bake bread many thousands of years earlier. In the 20th, scientists during excavations in Italy, Russia, and the Czech Republic discovered signs of the existence of starch grains in primitive stupas that surprised them. Starch was formed from the roots of cattail and horsetails, which primitive people rubbed into flour, mixed with water and baked. Bread is nutritious, does not deteriorate for a long time, it is convenient to carry it with you.
The mill was built, judging by the memories of old-timers, around the 1920s
In the early stages of human development (2,500,000 years ago), the human diet was not too diverse and was limited to the consumption of unprocessed plant foods (berries, herbs, nuts, roots of various plants). Subsequently, meat was also added to it, since the man learned to make primitive tools for hunting from stone - large choppers, scrapers, cutters and had the opportunity to collectively hunt large animals.
About 1,500,000 years ago, man learned how to make fire, which made it possible to cook the wounded game, and not to eat it raw. Meat cooked on fire was easier to digest, did not contain harmful microbes and became the main source of protein for human beings. And about 40 thousand years ago freshwater fish was also added to the human diet.
An important stage in the development of nutrition was the birth of agriculture about 10,000 years ago. The man tamed wild animals, the first of which were a dog, a pig and a cow and began to grow edible plants - vegetables, cereals and legumes. It is believed that during this period unleavened bread and beer appeared in the human diet. Thanks to the emergence of new methods for treating plant seeds, such as pounding, soaking, and fermentation, people received food rich in proteins and energy. Man moved from nomadic to sedentary lifestyle.
At the heart of the diet of most modern people are foods that have been subjected to powerful cooking and canning. This food contains an insufficient amount of nutrients and vitamins, animal proteins, vegetable fats and minerals that are necessary to maintain the health and high level of human activity. We live in the era of fast food, when diseases associated with improper and poor nutrition come to the fore. For many developed countries, obesity has become more relevant. People consume a lot of high-calorie refined and industrially processed foods, which leads to digestive disorders and metabolism and dramatically increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.
