The Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world with a volume of 3.8 million liters of water. An underwater glass tunnel with a length of 155 meters, equipped with a special escalator, passes through the aquarium. The exposition of the aquarium is divided into nine zones according to the geographical principle, but more than 15,000 fish and marine animals live there. Among them are many representatives of very rare species: emperor penguins, spotted seals, seahorse, ragbirds, wood frogs, rare species of jellyfish. Of particular interest is the area dedicated to China, where rare species of aquatic animals are found that live only in this country. These are giant salamanders, Chinese alligators, Chinese sturgeons and others.

In megacities, the arrival of spring is felt earlier, and winter is much milder. The air temperature in large cities, where there are many concrete structures, keeps 3-5 degrees Celsius higher than in their green suburbs. This effect is called the thermal island effect. While in rural areas, solar energy is used to evaporate dew, in the city it is absorbed by buildings that give off heat to the environment. Scientists have determined that cities are also able to independently form their own cloud cover. After studying satellite images of cities, scientists found that in spring and summer in the afternoon and evening, megacities are several percent more cloudy than the surrounding rural areas. Theoretically, the lack of vegetation in cities leads to dry air, which should lead to less evaporation of water and lower cloud cover. However, the researchers suggested that heat retained by buildings until noon leads to turbulence in air currents that carry moisture into the clouds.

Some scientists believe that climate change in the 20th century can be fully explained by human actions. For decades, climate change may be the result of the interaction of the atmosphere and the oceans. The warming of the beginning (1910-1945) and the cooling of the middle (1950-1980) of the twentieth century are also associated with oceanic oscillations - fluctuations in the temperature of the surface of the oceans. Southern El Nino oscillations, North Atlantic and Arctic oscillations correlate with changes in air temperature and rainfall. Oscillations can be the cause of snowfalls, showers, hurricanes and droughts. However, scientists concluded that only 7% of the actual results can explain the oscillations.
