Using modern methods for estimating volcanic emissions, we can recognize in the past of the Earth not only super-eruptions, but also other large eruptions that could affect the Earth's climate system. This influence can be assessed both by direct and indirect signs. The first include traces of ashes that are found in Greenland, in Antarctica, on the Svalbard and Novaya Zemlya archipelagos in the Arctic Ocean - now we can accurately establish that these rainfall fell there for more than one year. Indirect evidence may include changes in the global content of certain elements.

Today it is already well known that the threat of explosive eruptions with global consequences is much more real than previously imagined. And it seems logical to devote time and some means to this problem. Unfortunately, the activity of volcanoes does not depend on humans, we can neither prevent nor stop the eruptions. It is only in our power to reduce damage if we learn to predict, predict such catastrophic eruptions and can somehow prepare. What exactly can be done in this direction is not yet clear, but if we formulate this as a global problem and attract the attention of a community of scientists, constructive proposals will also appear.

There are more than forty waterfalls in Yellowstone National Park. The territory of the park produces a spectacle of falling water. Many of the beautiful waterfalls are located along the roads of the national park. The maximum flow of water is observed in late spring and early summer, during the period of maximum melting of snow on the mountain tops. An important component is wildlife. And these are not empty words. Yellowstone National Park is one of the few places in the USA where huge buffaloes live in their natural habitat (they are also found in the Badlands National Park), and also grizzly bears feel quite at ease in the park. In addition, wolves live in the park, reinduced into the park in 1995 to control the number of buffalo, as well as many black bears of baribal, moose, deer and other smaller animals.

Yellowstone's diverse nature is as famous as its geysers. In the days of the Wild West - when the buffalo seemed to roam everywhere, the grizzly bears caused everyone to fear, and the wolves regularly killed livestock - they viewed wildlife as an unpleasant phenomenon than a national treasure. When the Wild West was completely colonized, the value of Yellowstone as a wildlife sanctuary increased significantly. Today it is one of the most popular places in the world for filming wildlife landscapes. One of the natural phenomena catastrophic for man, which does not depend on us, is the inversion (pole change) of the Earth's magnetic field. Its frequency is rare: in total over the past 500 million years, about 500 such events have occurred, that is, 1-2 inversions over a million years. It is alarming that the last inversion happened about 800 thousand years ago. The deadline is approaching, but when it comes - after 30, 300 or 300 thousand years - no one knows. The poles, especially the North, do not stand still today, and at times their running is significantly accelerated. Fortunately, for a short period. But the fluctuations will occur more often, and when the pole crosses the 60th parallel, it will not return back. The process of "swinging" and inversion can take up to a thousand years, and all this time, humanity will have to tight. True, the duration of the transition period is set very approximately, because no one has dealt with this problem in detail. Despite the fact that the magnetic field has been studied for more than 300 years, not a single plausible hypothesis has yet been proposed, why, and, most importantly, how the inversion occurs.

Although these events themselves are "recorded" in volcanic lavas, where we observe a change in polarity and can approximately estimate the period, of the order of 1 thousand years, during which it occurs. Unlike volcanoes, the task here is more clear: you need to organize enhanced monitoring of the magnetic field, first of all, fluctuations in the position of the magnetic poles themselves. It is known that during each inversion, the North Pole, for example, "ran" in the same way: through our Chukotka and Kamchatka to Japan and further, through Australia, to the present South Pole. Now detailed monitoring of the magnetic pole is carried out only by the corresponding service in Canada, but this is clearly not enough - it requires the combined efforts of international scientific organizations, including Russian ones. In addition, to conduct research and calculations of how the weakening of the magnetic field and its chaotic variations during inversion (about 1 thousand years) will affect the operation of electric generators, electrical appliances, communications, television, etc.
